Brian W. Priest (b. 1978) is a visual artist currently living and working in Central Pennsylvania. His work is primarily focused in the three-dimensional realm incorporating sculpture, print media, installation, and the performance event.
Brian graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) with an emphasis in Sculpture and Print Media. He also holds an Associate of Specialized Technology degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (AIP) with an emphasis in Special Effects and Product Design.
He served as both President and Treasurer of the Student Art Association at IUP, for which he organized student exhibitions, trips to New York City, and visiting artist lectures and critique sessions.
In 2003 Brian participated in an international exchange program at Akademija Likovnih Umjetnosti u Zagrebu, (Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb, Croatia). While there he studied under Prof. Slavomir Drinkovic.
Brian has shown his work in several locations to include the Firehouse Gallery, Long Island, New York; G-ALU-Rija Galerija, Zagreb, Croatia; as well as throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania galleries located in Pittsburgh and the towns of Indiana and Washington.
Currently a student of life's experiences in this chosen path, Brian finds himself leaping from Role to Role, putting things right that once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home -- the Role of the Artist.
